RESOURCES

Build A Good Name
As a new VA your aim should be building a good reputation. The first thing people check before hiring you is the name you've created for yourself. Oh what are people say about him!

So you should craft a good name for yourself, whether you're using freelance VA websites or you have a personal portfolio website, you should include testimonies from clients about yourself. If you are using freelancing sites like Fiver, Upwork, etc you have clients review you by calling them to action after you've work for them. Asked them to review you on any freelance VA site you're on.

Call Them To Action
This is a crucial part of VA business, you need to ask your your clients to perform certain actions like Reviewing your profile, recommending you, and more! This is crucial and beneficial!

Add Value
When pitching your client, you should tell them how you'll be adding Value. This increases the chances of you being hired! And when you keep to your words they'll always want to work with you in the future and also recommend you!

Get Social
Social network is to best place to find clients and fellow VAs, as a VA you should network with other VAs and social networks is a good start. You've Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Periscope, Twitter, Forums and more. So maximize them!

Get Started with these Websites.
Uhm, this is optional for VAs that choose to be independent (I talked about being independent on my VA post), but if you want to find jobs you can do as a VA (though it's competitive), you should regularly check this sites for job updates. BLOGGING
I guess you've already heard of blogging? Yeah you can actually earn money as a blogger.

What's blogging, In a simple term it's a way of passing out information or sharing knowledge to people.

You can give out tutorials on your blog (How To Bake Cake), share ideas (10 Work At Home Jobs For Single Mum), Adress fear, Share funny stuffs, news and more!

How to make money from blogging, there are tons of ways to make money from blogs but I will mention only two.

Sponsored Advertising!
You can sign up with some websites like Google AdSense and they'll either place banner ads, text ads, search ads, sponsored related content and more. When these ads are clicked you'll earn some dollar. I have written a post were I featured some websites for monetizing your blog. Check it out!

Affiliate Marketing!
This is quite different from sponsored advertising as you're paid per action. Meaning you ain't earning when someone clicks your link but when some perform action like registration or purchasing some.

I use Tailwind and I'm an affiliate for them, here's my link to tailwind. If you click it a million time I won't earn anything until you follow my link and sign up for tailwind.

Also I'm an affiliate for Bluehost, here's my link. If you click it a million time, I won't earn a dime until you follow my link and host your blog with bluehost. You understand how affiliate marketing works now!

Affiliate links can be in form of text link or banner (image) link. I use text link for my affiliate marketing but in some cases you may find affiliate banner on my blog. Though text link is the best as you can embed it in your blog posts and make sales. One thing about affiliate marketing is your ability to entice someone to patronize your affiliate products. I'll talk about affiliate marketing as we move on!

RESOURCES
Platform: You need to decide on a platform you want your blog to run on.

We basically have hosted and and self hosted platforns. With hosted platforms you don't need to pay money for hosting as the platform takes care of your hosting. Most hosted platforms are free but some aren't totally free, you might need to upgrade in the future. I don't recommend hosted platforms but should stick to self hosted platforms and WordPress to be precise.

Self hosted platforms are superb, you'll only need to pay your hosting provider and you're good to go!

The most Popular and used self hosted platform is WordPress, you should stick to WP, they're superb!

If you however need free hosted platforms though some aren't totally free then you can see some below. They're are many but I'll only mention the ones that's mostly used, there's no need mentioning what you might not need or what wouldn't do the job perfectly.

•Blogger.com
•Wordpress.com
•Weebly.com
•Tumblr.com

WordPress is of you two types, the hosted wordpress.com and the self hosted wordpress.org, don't get it twisted I'm recommending WordPress.org for self hosting.

Host: If you've decided to selfhost your blog, you'll need to host it. What's actually hosting? It's more like a storage where all your blog's posts, image, videos and more will be stored.

There are tons of hosting platform but I recommend Bluehost.

I recommend bluehost because it's cheap and reliable. I've tried them. Though I've heard good stuff about siteground but I don't have personal experience with them!

If you are looking for cheap and yet quality hosting package then use bluehost.

After you've registered with them, Note they'll require your Names, Address and more upon registration, not excluding your mode of payment.

You can use your MasterCard, Credit or debit, PayPal and more!

After you've paid and complete the necessary, Now locate mojo marketplace and install WordPress, after then fill your WordPress details like password name and domain pointer! Bluehost comes with free domain but if you're using any other domain registrar you will need to point or transfer it to bluehost.

AFFILIATE  MARKETING
You've heard of affiliate marketing? Why not give it a try?

How it works, affiliate marketing is a CPA program where you earn some commission from a product you product after there's a successful action like Registration or purchase.

How much you make? The amount you make is determined by the cost of the product, the percentage of commission and the share of the affiliate companies but exceptional to direct merchant affiliating. If you're promoting directly for a company like Bluehost or Tailwind without signing up any third party website like ShareAsale (maybe you've used their service or seem to like it), then the amount you make is determined by the company and the affiliate product. Whichever way, you should read the publishing term of any company you've decided to work for and know how much you're paid per action!

How To Get Started, You can promote  your affiliate links on social media like Pinterest or create a blog for that, it's a matter of convincing people to try what you're promoting. To get started with promoting on social media, you should read my article on that! How to make money from social Media!

There are two basic ways of promoting affiliates, you either work directly with the merchant or get linked by an affiliate website that connects you with merchant. Those website stands as middle men, you've no business with the merchant, the merchant pays the website and the website pays you but they deduct their own share! That's one of their disadvantage!

If you're working directly with the merchant, you won't worry about anyone sharing your percentage with you, if your percentage is 10%, it's solely yours!

However, finding merchant might not be too easy as using affiliates sites, so a good approach to this is to use both.

Some merchant works with affiliate sites, they don't have their inbuilt affiliate program, so they're partners with some of these websites. Example Udemy!
